So Foxit Reader 3.0 is out now, and with it a firefox plugin (finally!). But, installing it on vista isn't as simple, as some of you may know. I'm not sure if this happens on all machines or not, but when you try to install the firefox plugin, you will get an "Unspecified error", which can be frustrating.

First, you will need to download the plugin from foxit software's site .It isn't the usual .xpi install file, so you have to open it through foxit reader.

Now, the important part. Click start, type in "foxit", right click foxit reader, and run as administrator. Now, you should be able to go Help > install updates now... and locate the .fzip file. Now you should be able to install it without getting the "Unspecified error". It seems a few companies are still behind in developing for vista :(

Hope this helps some of you and have a great new year! (as i type this, being in New Zealand, it is already 2009 here and may not be for some of you!)

Haha, nah the sheep things are fun on new years. Especially when you get them drunk.

Yep. I gave away my wellies (with the Velcro inserts), when I moved out of Wales, about 12 years ago :)

This seems like a pretty useful thread. I'm going to mark it "solved" so others might find help more easily.
