How can I dual boot ubuntu on vista?

I got an upgrade version of windows vista installed on my laptop, and I try to install Ubuntu so I can dual boot both operating systems, but I couldn't do it. Does anyone knows a tutorial or have any advised about how to do it?
I will appreciate your help

Most likely Vista is taking up the entire partition, so it's not going to let you install until you shrink the partition first:
