Hi. I am new to geek stuffs. I would like to know how to alert a device connected to my USB port by making a sound when an email arrives in my Outlook or thunder bird client. Please provide if any system like this already exists and also the method to implement such a thing so that i can try in my home. Thank you

Hi newgeekdude. What is the device connected to your USB port.
I would think having incoming emails make a beep is not a problem.
But I do not see the connection between the two ?

Hi LH. Thanks for your reply. I am new to these electronic and geeky stuffs. I do have basic knowledge in computers. I am asking a suggestion of how to implement this idea. I have seen email alerts in mozilla thunder bird as soon as an email arrive. My idea is i have to keep my Thunderbird always open. When a new mail arrives, a device connected to a USB port should alert in the form of a light or a sound. I am asking the methodology and guidelines of implementing it. I am doing just for fun and for learning something new. Thats it

Ah ha :) You think about the same sort of stuff as me :)
I'll have to think about it. There is a logical answer, but it's just not coming to me.
