how long to use lap in a day

Hi guys mine is a lenovo laptop bought on last december. it has home basic. for some days i ve been using nearly for 18 to 20 hrs a day. i ve connected internet thr dial up. can i use such long time? or is ther any limitations to use laptop?

You can run the machine until the parts wear out. IE LCD Screen, HD, etc., etc.

If the machine is performing NO functions, I suggest cutting it Completely Off during periods of NO use.

I don't know if there is even a Mean Time for system component failures in laptops.

May be in your documentation under system specifications.

Laptops are usually a lot more heat sensitive than desktops. If you plan to have your system running most of the time for many months or years, I would consider a desktop. I have a friend who runs an old Dell desktop since several years - he has never switched it off.
