Just thought I'd ask you guys how you spend your time when the forum is at a slow peak.

Personally I like to spend it doing some online learning courses.

But what about the rest of you ?

When really quiet, the excitement is disassembling a desktop or a laptop, you have all the 'bits' laid out ready for reassembly.
Now the fun starts....

After some rummaging around you realise that the IKEA flat pack instructions to 'construct' the new bedroom contains the answer, the leftover screws and the missing allen key. Sorted.

I'm usually logged-in here during my work hours, Monday thru Friday 9 am-6ish pm. When I get a chance to respond to thread I do if not I just read threads and/or articles. After work, I usually spend it with my son, read a book, eat, shower, etc.

Weekends are usually spent them with the family.

Besides running around with the dogs and taking in rescues from time to time and being secretary to the breedclub of my breed, I write articles, I'm in the middle of writing a book, help friends and family with their computers (mainly maintenance), and I'm starting a new job in a months time (and I thought I was busy now ... LOL).
I keep an eye on HTG when checking mail, while writing, when watching the news, when crosslooping etc. etc. - or in short whenever I'm behind my computer.
Not posting as much these days, due to lack of time and frankly the energy to write, since I'm writing for about 5 to 6 hours a day already.
Oh and all the other normal things like taking a shower, eat etc. is also packed in my days ;)))
(though sometimes compressed - I rarely make the effort to cook LOL)

I spend my time going out with my Good Lady or in the workshop making things some of which I have posted on here. We go for a walk everyday unless it's absolutely chucking it down. I also spend some time on the computer checking in mainly on Off topic as not much help on the main forum. At present I am converting all my CD's to MP3 so that will keep me busy for quite some time to come.
Some of the best times are spent with my Grandchildren.
Finally we always read in bed for an hour or so before going to sleep.
Oh yes nearly forgot I do help out with the vacuuming etc and always do the washing up.

Ted :)

I spend my days/nights doing whatever work I can get. Buy and sell a few bits and pieces on ebay. And the odd car.. Not much in it, but I get by. My Mother is disabled, and since the death of my stepfather she's increasingly reliant on me for getting out and about and general everyday stuff. Not that I mind, but it can be time consuming!

Free time is spent either with the dogs, at the computer (Interneting and a bit of gaming) or in the garage. I've got a 1979 Mk2 Escort Van I'm fixing up for shows etc, although to be honest I've been spending more time working on the garage itself lately. It's quite small as it was originally designed with motorbikes in mind, so I've had to re-fit as best I can to accommodate. (Which I've quite enjoyed, picking up a few basic skills along the way.)

Beyond that, just the usual stuff. I live a quiet life, enjoy a few rums every now and then, and I even make time for showers and eating!

i recently took up fish-keeping. not keeping anything super exotic or large as i still have a lot to learn as well as am limited as to how much space i can dedicate to a tank but its a lot of fun. heres a vid of one of the guppies i was keeping having her babies ...

aside from that i've also started tinkering with hobby grade RCs (trucks / cars). dont have much of a collection yet, but i do have a rustler vxl thats a handful. not sure how many others are familiar with the hobby but i know Jim might have a good story or two as he was into flying w/ his son at some point. have plans on getting something else a little later - but in the meantime just enjoying the one i have and learning more about the new brushless systems that these things are running. INSANE speeds. nothing at all like when i was a kid!

@SJ ...
LOL!!
nothing at all like a litter of pups! - i bet!
sadly all but one of the guppy babies have survived. i gave them all to someone along with a leopard danio that i was dying to get rid of cause he simply outmatched everyone else in the tank. kept all the other fish corralled in a little corner, so i explained this to the person as well as told her not to mix in the babies yet. not at least till they got a little bigger but they went ahead and mixed them all into the same tank and now theyre all gone except for the large female which is big and fast enough to avoid the danio.

Ahhh Vistual, that's so sad!
People do the silliest things - found that out with the dogs the hard way :(
But at least you're rid of the danio now <LOL>.

Wow, looks beautiful.
A friend of mine works on preservation of the Great Barrier Reef. Used to dive and collect crown of thorns starfish (which is quite undoable), but last I heard is they inject them with something and then they die and the ones they get into contact with too.
It's still not really clear though why they have become so abundant as to be such a thread to the coral reef.
