Since I’ve been here for a week, I figured that I would ask my fellow geeks how you refresh the forums. Since I typically do most of my forum posting from work, I am usually switching between my work stuff and checking the forums/blog feedreaders/web mail. After not too much time I noticed a lack of an auto refresh here so I added the greasemonkey script Refresh Any and added the howtogeek.com/fourms/* to the allowed sites.

So my question to you is how do you refresh the forums?

There's no automatic refresh on the forum, so I think most people either just hit the reload button or some people use the same greasemonkey / firefox options to auto-reload.

Do other forums have automatic refresh?

@Geek Well, not many forums to be honest, but this is a pretty high traffic forum so it is pretty nice to have. I got hooked on auto refreshes with my feedreader, bloglines. Heck, you may have you next How To article, How To Auto-Refresh Forums in Firefox with GreaseMoneky!

I just have to remember to turn off Greasemonkey when posting ;-)

Open Tab Mix Plus
Look in Menu
Check box that says Reload Tab Every
click OK
Then, when your on the site, right click, and set how often you want to reload

You can usually right-click the tab and choose it from the menu there. If it doesn't show up on the tab menu you can enable it in the properties window.

As mentioned last night,

If you don't need the full Tab Mix extension.
