(Solved) - How do you get Windows 8 product serial number by using cmd prompts?

I remember that it I used to type something to find out the serial for Windows 7. Can I do that in Windows 8?

That''s an exceptional software although, I need to do it from the cmd prompt. I can't boot into Windows 8 and plan to reinstall using an iso file from the same OS.

You could try :

wmic bios get serialnumber

but I don't know if it will work in Win 8.

It's not a bad idea to try wmic anyway. Do you have a tutorial for that by any chance?

I tried it in a Windows 7 CMD and all it said was:

SerialNumber
System Serial Number
