Oscopy, hello and welcome. When I click on the link you provided, it shows the model number as dv6701tx. What is the exact model of your laptop? There seem to be many different models in the dv6500 series.

Tell me more about what you see in Device Manager. Is there a yellow "?" or a red "X" next to the network adapter? Can you open the Properties and see what it says under device status?

Hello ScottW! thanks for your concern...the exact model on my laptop is dv6620en ...on the Device manager there is a yellow "?" next to the network adapter and under properties it shows"this device cannot start". I'm still battling with that network adapter all this while...please assist me...I dont know if the adapter is bad or its just the driver?
