so i want to reinstall my windows 7 only problem is that it was pre installed onto my dell laptop so as i am not computer savvy i have no idea what to do

any help would be very welcome

I have had this issue before, download this program from kaspersky called TDSS KILLER it will do a quick scan and remove it right away!

Look at the Certificate Of Authenticity sticked to your laptop for your Windows 7 version and product key. Download the corresponding official Windows 7 ISO image for your Windows 7 version from here:
http://www.askvg.com/direct-do.....nd-64-bit/

With Windows 7 USB/DVD Download tool you can make a bootable DVD or USB with an official Windows 7 ISO image. Download and instructions:
http://www.microsoftstore.com/.....vd_dwnTool

Use this DVD or USB to perform a clean install of Windows 7 with your product key. Instructions here, go to "To install Windows 7 using the Custom option and formatting the hard disk":
http://windows.microsoft.com/e.....-Windows-7

If you need any additional help just ask.

Before doing all that check and see if you have a factory recovery partition. That would be the fastest way to recover from the virus. If not then follow Ruja suggestions.

If you tell us the make of your PC (Dell, HP or whatever), we may be able to give you the exact reinstallation procedure from the recovery partition. That procedure varies by make.
