I made my xp hard drive 14 gb. I want to extend my hard drive by makeing a new drive from vista then deleteing it to extend my xp partition. The thing is that when I try to shrink it, it says you can't shrink anything. WHY??

How much free space do you have on the XP drive? If you don't have much then it can't be shrunk.

Ok. 5 GB should be enough free space to shrink though you aren't leaving much for it.
You can check some of the things at http://www.howtogeek.com/howto.....-problems/
Even though the article is for Vista many of those things will apply to Windows XP also just some things will be in different places.
