Hi All,

I have got a new laptop which is running Vista home basic. I have tried, (without success!) downloading music from HMV and keep getting the message - 'The Background Intelligent Transfer service needs to be enabled'

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Many thanks

Start> Run> Services.msc, double click BITS and set it to Automatic, then Start, then Apply.

Youch. Right. If you go to Services, and press the W key you will see all the Windows Services. Try making sure that all the ones about Media Center and Media Player are active.

Not sure if you fixed this yet, but here's a KB on it:
