On a dv7 HP lap..Windows7.....I go to "Device Driver" and disable/uninstall the Touchpad but it comes back every time I re-start.
Any way to block it from doing so.

Also - when I go to Control Panel "mouse" to disable it it never works for very long - AND when I double tap the top left corner of the TouchPad itself (below the keyboard) it never holds for very long - always comes back. The yellow "disabled" light goes on but only for little awhile............I want to get rid of it altogether ........Thanks

PS - the TouchPad driver also appears in the Control Panel (programs) after having UN-installed it........so I un-install it again from there too - to no avail. The driver is persistent.

Un-installing the touchpad via Device Manager,upon rebooting

it get's re-installed automatically.

Or did i misunderstood your question?

'İf in Device Manager'? The touchpads in every laptop i've had,have always been listed in Device Manager,

but haven't seen them in my Revo,which i've had for years.

And the OP clearly stated trying to dis-able / un-install via Device Manager.

So why would you be confused,that it comes back,after un-installing and re-booting?

That was my question.
