how can I stop a startup program on windows 7?

I would use either Autoruns (from Microsoft Technet Sysinternals) or the built-in msconfig tool (win key+R, then type msconfig, hit enter or click ok)

The easiest way if your not to computer savvy is to use CCleaner,

http://www.filehippo.com/download_ccleaner/

Just open Ccleaner click tools>start-up>left click the program

Then click disable

Do this by typing msconfig in start menu search. Hit enter, under startup tab, choose the program you want to restrict. Uncheck it, click ok and you are done.
