when I make an icon on my desktop it shows the IE icon instead of the google icon. this used to work in Windows XP but doesnt work right in Vista anymore.
is there a way to make an icon that works?
Do you mean you want to replace the IE icon with one that shows google?
I'm guessing that's the problem... I've gotten a lot of emails about this.
The first thing you need to do is make sure you are showing the classic icons, or you can download a google icon and swap out the current one with the google one.
Alot of sites have free icons to download. Try deviantart.com. When you find one just right click select properties and change icon then select your google one.

That's pretty cool Scott, have you tried it?
Zig, I have not tried this program but offer this quote from Amanda (wife) "it's much better than IconPackager."
OK, here is an icon with a picture of Amanda. 6th from the top, in the middle :)
If she wasn't 20 pixels tall, she'd be hot! =P
She prefers 'vertically challenged' :O
Now if we can get Elis812 to post back, she'll make him a cool Google icon.
