How can I make an icon to Google that shows the google icon?

when I make an icon on my desktop it shows the IE icon instead of the google icon. this used to work in Windows XP but doesnt work right in Vista anymore.

is there a way to make an icon that works?

I'm guessing that's the problem... I've gotten a lot of emails about this.

The first thing you need to do is make sure you are showing the classic icons, or you can download a google icon and swap out the current one with the google one.

Alot of sites have free icons to download. Try deviantart.com. When you find one just right click select properties and change icon then select your google one.
