My homepage got hijacked by (mystart.incredimail.com/english/ and I can't get rid of it. I did delete the program but that darn homepage remains. How do I get it off my homepage? And remember I'm a gook not a geek so be specific please. Thanx in advance.

In Firefox, change your home page at Tools --> Options --> Main.
In I.E. go to Tools --> Internet Options --> General

Now,if you would please tiredtwo.
Download, install, run an update, and scan your system with this.

And let us know if it finds anything.

tiredtwo,

Also you need to download and use the FREE version of this to Clean Up your machine.

Most of the members use it.

LH, Incredimail is a nice (but invasive) program for fancy letter writing. The company is in Israel. They are very agressively marketing it although it is free (at least most of it). I used it for a while. You should try it once. It is really nice. I am sure Sarah would like it, since she likes eye candy.

Rick, it's working fine - does everything it's supposed to do. But I still have this problem with the interrupt when I switch it on/off. Canon 3d level support is supposed to call me tomorrow. We'll see.

Used the superantispyware.com freebe and got this: Adware.mysearch 29 items
Adware.trackingcookie 10 items
Quarantined them per the option.
Guess that is the best that can be hoped for.

tiredtwo,

You got the items that needed cleaning up. There will always be some tracking cookies in the cache every time you go on line. Grab FREE CCleaner to keep the caches clean.

JUST UPDATED TODAY !!

LOL @ whs - nope, you got me all wrong. I don't like Incredimail one bit!
If I want fancy email, I'll make my own :)

sarah, but you have to admit that it looks nice. I did not like it either because it was so invasive. But I know some people that use it all the time and I always get fancy mails from them.

tiredtwo,

You might run a HiJackThis scan and post the log to a place like CastleCops (http://www.castlecops.com/modu.....ur_Account) where they can interpret it. There may be some remnants of malware if you got any through Incredimail. Ccleaner and SAS probably got the BHO, but just in case . . .
