High signal but no connection,wi-fi ubuntu 12.04

Hello,
My netbook Acer aspire one is getting wifi signal and two weeks ago connection was working great, after I installed 12.04 ubuntu I couldnt connect anymore although im still getting signal,
I thought problem would be fixed by installing again ubuntu 11.04 but still it doesnt work either,,,
What should I do now?

What is the wireless card? Have you tried updates?

Connect via ethernet cable and update the machine

My adater is Atheros communications. AR242x/AR542x Wireless
what updates? I tried ubuntu 11.04 and 12.04 I get signal but no connection,
With cable does the same thing, it just dont wants to connect eventhough its getting full signal...
