What an opportunity for a non-geek to muck something up. Just reading the Flexhex explanation was enough to put a hex on my simple brain.

Spacegold, don't read too much into it. It is just another base. Instead of 10 in decimal and 2 in binary, it is 16 in Hex (also called hexadecimal). They just use it for a lot of applications like color schemes, etc. It is the application side that is confusing.

Right, whs. I am an engineer, and so I know what hexidecimal is, but it still boggles my brain. It's for people with no thumbs. Would I say jeety-jee for GG as I would say sixty-six for 66? Or efty-eff for FF? Or enty-ay for EA? Or Deebly-seven for D7? A person who ventures into an executable program armed only with knowledge of hexidecimal counting is a far better man and braver soul than I.

ROFL, thats hilarious. i, like you, have very little understanding of hex(hexadecimal) after reading that article. yet i think i will persist on and find out more, when i get the time, definatley not in the coming wk or 2

im sure you could make a post or edit one already made in wikipedia, they would surely appreciate the humour.

Spacegold, you are correct. There is a "language" to speak hex. But I forgot it long ago.

Edit. And yes, I know, I should say hexadecimal.
