Interesting.
I guess many people like to keep secrets so places are made to keep them. Supply and Demand. People want a place to keep secrets and one is made.
Some people have to know about them so the ones who want to keep secret things there can.
We still have no idea what is in half the vaults there or in all the military bases like area 51.
It would be interesting to find out but I don't think we ever will.

@jd, at first I thought you had swallowed a philosopher, but then you mentioned Area 51, so I know you're sane. maybe :)

Just thought of one more thing to add: It's odd they have things like a baby picture of Hitler.
Not to mention all the audio recordings.
Also, what good is keeping all that stuff if people hardly ever see it?

So you want to see a picture of little baby Hitler,
and listen to his gurglings, and gigglings and baby functions?

jd, I think those are the originals. People do see them, but as copies.

@Lighthouse: No, I don't. That is part of my point. Why would anyone want a picture of hitler?
@whs: Ok. That makes since. Though I wonder how they make the copies. If they take a machine to copy the pictures and audio to that place or take the items out of storage to do it possibly damaging the items in the process.

@jd. Hitler is a very important part of european (and global) history.
A very bad man in our eyes, but not in his
History has been changed far too much as is what is taught in schools.
Tis the fate of the proles to ever suffer in servitude

@Lighthouse: Yes, that is true. Can't really say much else about it then.

jd, no idea how they make those copies. But of most of this stuff copies have been around long time before those artifacts were stored - just think of the number of copies of the Mona Lisa (which is not there but in the Louvre).
