So I have been having this problem for a while now, and I have been to lazy to fix it so here it goes. When ever I go to Ctrl Alt Del and select task manager, I get this error message:

Does anyone know how to fix this? I got the registry pointing to the right files with just one space in between them.
I am lost as to what to do. I even tried to reset the value to point to task manager, but that didn't work either. Any help would be appreciated
Thanks

I don't know how to fix your original Task Manager, but there's an option in Process Explorer to replace the Task Manager, no registry editing required. Use that next time! Actually, trying using that option and see if it fixes it. It's under the options menu.

If you want to restore the original Task Manager just delete the taskmgr.exe key under "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Image File Execution Options" in the registry.
If you want Process Explorer to replace the Task Manager in Vista make sure to use version v11.04 or higher and then click Replace Task Manager under the view menu.
For versions under v11.04 you need to do some manual tweaks to get it to work.
If it was a tweak with an older version that didn't work right just delete the above registry key, download the latest version of Process Explorer and use it's menu option to replace Task Manager.

Thanks both of you. I just went to Restore Task Manager in the options menu and it deleted the value that I created in the registry. But when I went back to replace task manager in the options menu process explorer doesn't show up when i run task manger
btw I'm running 11.04

Double Post:
I know what was wrong. I had process explorer set to run as an admin everytime I ran it. When i made it run in non admin mode it showed up when i ran task manager. Is there a way to run it in admin mode when I try to run task manager?

After you run it just click file and click "Show Details for all processes".
As long as most of your processes don't run under Admin mode then you can still use Process Explorer when it's not in Admin mode to view or kill those processes.
