I have been trying to write Windows 7 RC to a DVD on Ubuntu Jaunty. I am using Maxell DVD-R's with 4.7 GB (advertised at least) Max burn speed of 16x.

The disc will write an image-check sum or something like that for 10 minutes, then say it's burning data to the disc. It then closes saying error. I can't seem to figure out what is wrong, I keep trying different discs, making sure they don't have data on them and whatever, tried writing at a slower speed too.

This is the end of the error log I saved, if you need more of it to help then I will put it up, but it's a rather lengthy log...

Operation starts.

Can you burn the image using Windows platform instead of Ubuntu, if you have that setup? I see quite a few of the same problem out there burning ISO images to disk using Ubuntu. Today (8/20) is the last day to download Win7. Good to know in case you have a corrupted image. You have mentioned above that you have tried to burn using slower speeds. Use the lowest speed your burner will allow. Takes longer, but lessens the chance of burning errors to the disk. Some found a solution by upgrading Brasero taken from a Ubuntu forum Garry
