I'm building a computer from scratch. I have narrowed down most of the parts that I want. I will be using this computer mostly for scientific programming. I have never built one from scratch before so I just wanted some comments before buying anything. Here is my setup so far:

Processor: Intel core i7-3770 quad core 3.4 GHz 8 MB (LGA 1155)
Motherboard: Gigabyte B75M D3H Micro ATX intel
Hard Drive: Western Digital Black WD1002FAEX 1 TB 7200 RPM SATA 6.0 Gb/s
RAM: Cosair Vengeance 2x4 GB 240-Pin DDR3 1600 SDRAM

I haven't decided on a case or power supply yet. I'm not really sure what I should be looking for with those components.

Any suggestion or comments would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks, Rich

The mother board is pretty well out-dated with those PCI slots.

What is the maximum budget for this Build ??

I wanted to keep it under $800. Any recommendations for the motherboard?

Since you are not gaming, you will not need an External Video card right ??

You need a good MB, CPU, Plenty of Ram, a Cooler, PSU, and a Case plus an SSD.

What are your thoughts on the MB Intel BOXDQ77MK LGA 1155 SATA 6 Gb/s USB 3.0 Micro ATX and the SSD Intel 520 Series Cherryville SSDSC2CW120A3K5 2.5 120 GB SATA III?

Personally, I would go with this MB and SSD. Probably the fastest SSD around.

I think it's a better buy, for a couple of things it has more sata 6.0Gb/s connections and more usb 3.0 connections. I also used it on my new build and it works real well.
