A few days ago the source code for a game was released by the creator who had recently abandoned the servers to create another game.

Now, I have both the game and the source code and have no idea how to link the two to create my own private server as the admin.
Apparently, the source code can be edited quite easily by someone who has a little coding experience.

My questions are:
What files do I need to edit and how do I edit them,
How do I make myself the admin and other members moderators,
What do I need to add to a server and how do I do this?

Sorry for all the questions, I am very inexperienced and any help would be very muchly appreciated (:

If setting any of this up is a little too complex, then I understand and shall have to seek help from an actual game programmer ^^"

It's basically a chatroom with 3D characters, prey and items.
