i have found that atheros cards needed to treat specially with this mac changer ....... but i managed to find the way to figure it out ...

thanks anyways ... err for not replying .... :)

hie all ...

i wanted to change my mac address and so i followed "how to" by the geek here , but it did not worked for me .... also , i downloaded mac changer , which also did not worked well ....

for macchanger i typed ,

sudo ifconfig ath0 down
sudo macchanger -m 00:11:22:33:44:55
sudo ifconfig ath0 up

after all this , it showed that my mac address is changed ... but after changed mac address , i can not connect to router again ...

any guess ?? am i wrong somewhere ?? ... by the way .. i am using ubuntu hardy ... and wifi chipset is atheros ... ( ah , it can be guessed from ath0 ..)

thanks in advance ...

p.s. ... i am on my home network , so there is no case of wrong password ... also i have not enabled mac restricted access ...
