It sounds like your downloads are getting sent through some type of download manager, but i cannot say for certain. Try this? Uninstall flash player software and then reinstall, making 100% certain that you are getting the Flash software from ONLY adobe.
Go to Orb (Start) > Control Panel > Programs > Uninstall a program > find the flash player on the list > uninstall, then go directly to adobe's website and try to install the latest flash version. You **may** need to download the installer to your desktop first, to avoid interference from the purported download manager, This may work! To download the installer, rather than run it ... right click on the link provided by adobe on their site and then select "Save As" instructing Windows to place the file on your desktop. Once the installer file has downloaded completely from adobe, then run it!
