(Solved) - Hard-to-Explain Vista Question

I'm sure most everyone here is familiar with Ubuntu Linux, and I've got a question about adding a feature to Vista that Ubuntu has. In Ubuntu, when you plug in a USB device (flash drive, USB hard drive, etc.), an icon for it is placed directly on the desktop - a feature which I loved in Ubuntu and miss now after having to switch back over to Windows. I like Vista a lot as well, but miss that feature terribly. Is there any way to perform something similar to that in Vista?

Works great in XP Pro SP2. Some guy on the post says it worked in Vista. I never thought of needing something as simple and obvious as this, so I gotta thank you for bringing it up. Such a great feature.

That's exactly what I was looking for. Thanks man.

For the record, it works perfectly fine on Windows Vista Home Premium (on the 32-bit version at least).
