Hand Icon in body of email messages

I have Vista Ultimate with Office 2007 Enterprise. All email messages have a hand icon, similar in style and function to the hand that appears in Adobe Acrobat documents. The hand icon prevents the ability to copy individual items in the email. When you right click the menu only shows "synonyms, translate and view source" no other items are active. Left click only closes the hand like in Acrobat. Acrobat 8.1.3 Professional is also installed on the machine, but I have yet to find an option to explain the behavior.
