Hi Ashbel. Try plugging in a different monitor. See if it still happens.

Well, you do really need to know if it's a problem with the monitor, cable, graphics card, or OS, or something else.
Monitor is always the 1st best bet.
Can you ask a friend, or neighbour ?

As LH says, with the given data this is hard to diagnose. What you can try is to update the Display Adaptor driver (in Device Manager). I would delete it all together and reboot (which should reload the driver).

What is the story on this pirated Vista. Where did you get it from? If it is genuine, you can call Microsoft and have them fix it.
