(Solved) - grayed out bios

i am wondering if anyone has any idea why when i press fn+f2 to get into the bios etc the part where the bios is is grayed out.
the laptop is lenovo u300e ultrabook thanks in advance.

Hi Michael ,

Some BIOS have multi functions, for example pushing F2 on start up may take you to a Boot order page where you can see the BIOS settings in the background but cannot access them.

It may be worth trying other F keys to see what it will "jump" to, also going to Lenovo's site and typing in your model laptop in the support section may offer manuals/info which could help understand what the different keys do.
