Hey guys, I'm going buy 512mb graphic card for games, aero, compiz fusion(in linux), multimedia. Do u have any suggestions? nVidia or ATI? Which model? I don't have much idea about hardware, so I need your help..

Hi Dollar. Consider also power consumption, heat and noise and try to balance these against your requirements.

I just ordered an nvidia 8600GT (!) for my PC. I don't plan on gaming but I just want a little more muscle for everyday stuff without the whole Jet engine noise/heat/fuel dynamic going on.

Before you decide on a new graphic card, make sure your PSU can handle it. The stock PSU's are usually quite minimum and a good graphics card may need 450 or more watts.
