On our old XP desktop at home, we somehow picked up a redirect virus that at first only affected Google but now seems to affect IE too. I've checked the proxy settings, run Malwarebytes, Panda and several other antivirus/antimalware programs to no avail. I've Googled the problem from my laptop and none of the fixes that I found worked. Anyone with any suggestions would be most appreciated!

Google Redirect Virus
(3 posts)Boudeccea, this could be a toolbar problem, downloaded with some programs.
In your browser options, manage search engines, delete the engine and replace the home page with your preferred.
Use this app, in advanced mode (the free version) to uninstall any odd toolbars; http://www.revouninstaller.com.....nload.html
What is the redirect page you are getting, post the link here please

Or try running this AdwCleaner http://www.bleepingcomputer.co.....dwcleaner/
AdwCleaner is a program that searches for and deletes Adware, Toolbars, Potentially Unwanted Programs (PUP), and browser Hijackers from your computer.
