(Solved) - Google Chrome sync error on Mac

I am using Mac OS X 10.6.4 and Google Chrome 6.0.472.55 (stable version).

I've been having an issue where I will setup the sync and everything is fine. I can click on the close button in the upper left-hand corner to close the Chrome window. When I open it later, the sync process is working.

However, when I quit Chrome and later open it, the sync process breaks. A screenshot of the error can be found here.

Has anyone else experienced this issue? I have submitted this as a bug and is recorded as issue 53118.

I posted this issue on Super User on 9/2. Pattern86 tried to help me, but I'm still having the same issue. I have also posted this on the Google Chrome forum, but never received any responses.

If you read through either the Chromium issues board or the Super User board, you will see what I have tried so far.

Any assistance is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I figured it out and man it feels good. Here's the solution to the issue:

Perform the following steps:

1. Stop syncing to a Google Account in Chrome through the preferences.
2. Quit Chrome.
3. Open Keychain Access and delete Chrome Safe Storage.
4. Open Google Chrome. Enable syncing.

Result: Chrome no longer produces a sync error when it's restarted.

It really feels good to have this issue resolved. Thanks to pattern86 on Super User for all of his help. It was his last suggestion that made me think to look at the Keychain as I had been messing with it before this issue occurred.
