I don't want to see previews of my open programs; the preview is a just visual distraction to me. I have already disabled it by increasing to several minutes the time it takes for the preview pane to open (I did this in the registry). However, sometimes it pops up anyway. Is there a better way to get rid of it?

Might want to LOOK HERE but it appears with GPEDIT.MSC you can also do it, but that isn't available in HOME editions.

Here is ANOTHER ONE that involves a registry change to do it.

Thanks so much. None of those things worked. I hear that Microsoft has disabled the ability to disable that feature, God knows why. I guess they want people to upgrade. God, I hate Microsoft. They're so manipulative.

Just FOUND THIS, might just do what you want? I've not tried it though.

That program seemed to work for me, however it just gets rid of all the previews. Does anyone know if it's possible to use the 'basic' theme hover over preview rather than the aero one whilst keeping all the other aero theme stuff on?
