I wanted to have another go at Civilization: Call to Power, so I popped the CD in, installed it and played it. Everything works fine (except movies, unless if I set compatibility mode to Win XP, either service pack), but when I press Launch to start the game, the thing crashes.

It worked just fine on my Win XP comp. Does anybody know how I can get it to work on my Win 7 laptop?

KonTiki, hi, I would go to their website and see if there is a patch for win7.

Game's from 1999 (according to the tiny text at the bottom of the back), so I doubt it's still supported. I just checked the site of Activision (http://www.activision.com, as the back of the CD cover says), and there's no mention of any Civ game at all there. There's no mention of other companies involved, neither on the box nor in the game.

2010 now; game = 1999 so we looking @ win 98.
So, unless you have Ultimate win7 (with xp support) I doubt whether it will play. Activision support is minimal now, if any. Activision now gone.

Damn, what's the use of Win 7 if you can't run programs that aren't recent recent anymore?
