Get start bar items to flash when updated

Previous versions of windows would have taskbar/toolbar whatever items, they'd flash when updated (like a new message on Skype, or AIM).... now, it just turns solid orange.... anyway to get them to flash?

welcome to the HTG forums! i looked around on different sites and only saw this post that mentioned this:

doesnt have a fix, but i recommend bookmarking it and checking periodically for any updates.

It looks to be set by individual programs (AIM flashes, but Skype is solid...)

since windows 7 has been out for 2 days, i bet fixes will be set. im surprised majority my programs and drivers (minus 1 not working and 3 that were outdated) actually worked.
