Hi, I am using a vista HP dual core laptop with Ubuntu installed via Wubi. Everything is great with it and I love Ubuntu but I do have a couple of problems. I would like to dress up my desktop with gdesklets and so I checked I have the correct repositories and installed the package. Everything seemed to go ok but when I open the application the GUI is blank, it seems to freeze and I have to force it to quit. Also I cannot see my main drive in PLACES ( should I be able to access this with this installation? ) If anyone knows how to resolve this I would be grateful.

are you trying to look at your vista files? because to do that you have to goto your file system then open the host folder and all you file should be in there and i have never used the gdesklets so i'm not sure if i can help you there but you may need more graphics
