Hi there, when I pressed FUNC F1 in Vista, it will display an Error dialog box that says:

'Internet Explorer cannot download / from help.
Internet Explorer was not able to download from this Internet site. The requested is either unavailable or cannot be found. Please try again later.'

Can someone help on this please? Thank you very much.

Ash

When you get the Help window, go to Options (top right) > Settings > and uncheck the box "Include Windows online help and support ... ". Then you won't get this message.

Hi, the Help window just doesn't have the Options menu, it's just blank and the mouse cursor keeps revolving. Nothing I could do, except to close it.

Any help? Thanks for helping!

Hmmm, Aparrently there is something wrong with your whole help function, because this is how it is supposed to look like:

@Lighthouse: That page has a download to view older Windows 95 style help files. It has nothing to do with the Help and Support function this topic is about.

Yes, but the poster has a loop because it's looking for online updates and can't get it.

Does it disable that when you turn automatic updates off?

If he had this option, it might get him out of the predicament.

It is a function in "Windows Help and Support" (see picture above). But on his system it does not show up. So something is wrong. If you look on your system, it is probably there. Click on it and go to 'settings' and you will see that you can uncheck the online support.
Edit: I tried to answer a question that has disappeared. The new form of hide and seek - or - the perfect answer to a non-existing question.

@Lighthouse: Ok. What I said still applies to that link. It's a download of a file to view Windows 95 style help files which has nothing to do with the "Help and Support" window of Vista or the Windows 98-Vista style help files.

Ok Ok I am wrong. But it says Windows Vista in big letters. How am I to know it doesn't apply to Vista?

@Lighthouse: The download does apply to Vista. The download is a program to view older help files. The program came with Windows 98-XP. It's available for download for Vista as Vista doesn't contain that program anymore. "Help and Support" is a different help system made just to list help for Windows Vista. Thus downloading one won't help a problem with the other.
