And yes, we had a coca cola commercial very much like it a couple of years ago.

Because it's warm. When you get older, you are shivering all the time. Believe me - I am over 70 and I am a Florida snowbird.

It's warm and a tax haven:) We have no state income tax.

whs, you strike me as a South Beach kind of guy. Why do you visit the family-friendly Gulf side? Just wondering.

techgranny, we got there because the wife has relatives there and it is more peaceful than the east coast - but that is slowly changing too. Our county grew by over 50% in the last 10 years. In our development were 100 houses when we built, now there are over 700. I guess the others like the sun too.

When I was graduating in '83, the greater Tampa area was quite rural. I-75 stopped in Hillsborough County if I recall. It was fairly quiet then, but you knew deep down, the area was about to have a population explosion.
