I have an acer aspire 5050 with a partitiond hard drive and i want to do a fresh install of vista and delete the partition but alas i got no reinstall disk with the laptop and it will cost £50 to get the disk from acer. Is there any way i can make my own disc from the laptop so i can erase the partition and do a clean install. Any help would be appreciated

Fresh install
(3 posts)Hello scorpi42 and welcome to How-To-Geek,
I am not sure if this is "Ok" to do so or not, but if you create your own Vista Recovery disc, and boot with it in your CD drive, you can do a clean install that way, it will ask you what version of Vista you are running and you simply select the one you are using and it will then clean install the version you requested... I am sure this is ok if you have a legit Vista Product key...
Hope that helped

EDIT: Same sort of idea madmacs and just before me... take madmacs advice first XD
