Free VPN that can access from putty

Hey

I just recently saw the Howtogeek article on VPN and I am thinking of getting one but I want one that is free.
Also I want one that can be accessed through putty so that I can go on any computer and stick my memory stick in the computer then start putty in it and connect to the VPN and then configure something in Firefox and then browse through the VPN.

I have seen somebody do this before but I can't remember how they did it.

Thanks for those links that has confirmed for me that what I want to do is SSH tunnel my Internet browsing but how do I do that??
