I hope Ike does not make it to my house - too early to tell though.

No problem. No need to be sorry. :-)

BTW: We got quite a bit of rain here where I live from the remnants of Gustav.

Hurricanes in the Gulf make Oma sick to her stomach. Gustav hit my entire family in Louisiana. We got 45 to 50 mph wind gusts all day from 300 miles away. Now it appears Ike is headed straight to P'cola or too close for comfort. Say a prayer for us, we're going to need all the help we can get:)

Every day Ike seems to track a bit further south. If that trend continues, it is going to hit the Golf States again. But with these buggers you never know. It may take a sudden turn and then anybody could be at risk. A category 4 is nothing to fool around with.

whs, I worry about your home in Tampa. I hope you have someone to watch your property. Everyone from Mexico to Miami is preparing for this one.

Scott, those links you posted are right up my husbands alley:) thanks a million!

techgranny, yes I have our friends and neighbors watching the house. Up to now we never had a problem and IKE seems to be tracking further south now. So we are hoping to get spared again.
