I saw a post with a fix for the above. We are running a web application with classic asp. I have followed the fix to ensure that MSDTC has no authentication set for distributed transactions, as outlined in the how to.

This has not worked, so the additional comment that a firewall between the web server and databse server could cause the issue. You mention that ensuring high end porrs are open between the two machines, along with RPC... my security team are asking which ports. Any ideas ?
