All I want to achieve is more processing power and RAM.

Specs:
Windows 7 ultimate 32-bit
CPU: Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU E4500 @ 2.20GHz (2 CPUs), ~2.2GHz
2GB RAM
GFX: Intel(R) 82945G Express Chipset Family
364 GB Hard Drive

I don't even know what type of RAM I have, but I'm certain it's not DDR2 or 3. I'd like to get DDR3, but what compatibility issues would I have and what else would I have to upgrade for that to work?

I want to do more than getting more RAM. Apparently I have DDR2, but I want to upgrade to DDR3 and I need to know what else I'll have to upgrade so everything is compatible.

This will tell you what you need to know re DDR2 / 3

Remember that 32 bit windows will only address between 3 - 3.5 gb RAM

Perhaps you could post your machine. A desktop may be upgradeable but a lappy would be very expensive regarding CPU.

Ram is more important, but 32bit just can't hack it above the 3.5gb threshold.

Edit; you just cant upgrade from ddr2 to ddr3, MB's don't support that.

I didn't know 32 bit could only handle a measly amount. I think I'll just go out and buy a black friday tower instead. Thanks guys.
