Hello everyone,

I am planning to build my first mediocre gaming rig (under $1000) and was wondering if you guys can give me some feedback. I want to be able to play games such as Battle Field 3, Skyrim, and Borderlands 2 on medium settings with decent FPS. I also want to make sure my parts are compatible with each other and that I am not bottlenecking.

Here is a link to my lists of parts:

Plain text format:

CPU: AMD FX-6100 3.3GHz 6-Core Processor ($104.99 @ Newegg)

CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 Plus 76.8 CFM Sleeve Bearing CPU Cooler ($19.99 @ Newegg)

Motherboard: MSI 970A-G46 ATX AM3+ Motherboard ($78.89 @ NCIX US)

Memory: G.Skill Ripjaws Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory ($39.99 @ Newegg)

Storage: Western Digital Caviar Black 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive ($89.99 @ NCIX US)
Storage: OCZ Vertex 4 64GB 2.5" Solid State Disk ($62.98 @ NCIX US)

Video Card: Sapphire Radeon HD 6850 1GB Video Card ($124.99 @ Newegg)

Case: Cooler Master HAF 912 ATX Mid Tower Case ($49.49 @ SuperBiiz)

Power Supply: Rosewill Capstone 650W 80 PLUS Gold Certified ATX12V / EPS12V Power Supply ($99.99 @ Amazon)

Optical Drive: Asus DRW-24B1ST/BLK/B/AS DVD/CD Writer ($19.99 @ Newegg)

Total: $691.29
(Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available.)

All the components will work together ok I guess but is not a gaming Built.

Just a very inexpensive desktop.

AMD will introduce new processors on the 23rd of October 2012 if they don't go broke first.

You might wait until then to choose your parts.

You will be looking for the NEW AMD FX - 8350 Unlocked CPU
