Wanting to build a pc using an AMD 6100 six core cpu
And a GeForce GTX480 graphics card. Hoping someone can give me
suggestions on the rest the components trying to keep the cost low as possible

PCPartpicker is a good place to start finding and listing parts and catch gross incompatibilities but don't depend it on it for the final word. I put in some memory sets that weren't listed as acceptable in a couple of MOBO manuals and it accepted them.

Thanks for the suggestions so far. Here is my preliminary list for approval any reasons this won't work?
AMD FX-6200 processor
MSI 970A-G46 motherboard
