For sure with Tab Mix Plus. I'll disable that and try for you.
OK tried it (with Smart Bookmarks enabled, and Tab Mix Plus disabled). In a word, No :(

Yep. Get Tab Mix Plus. (you'll wonder what you ever did without it) :)

I am using FF2, and there is nothing in "about:config" that would let you do that. If you are using FF3, it may be different.

I believe the default behavior for a middle mouse button click is open link/bookmark in a new tab. It works for me and I don't have any tab add-ons, nor do I recall setting this.

EDIT: it's the same in FF2 and FF3

You are absolutely right ScottW. I had to Google that to find it. I could find nothing within FF that mentioned it.
Edit. In about:config, mine is (default)
middlemouse.openNewWindow

Clicking middle mouse/mousewheel opens a bookmark in a new tab in FF3 for me.

Here is a Firefox help entry that talks about it:
http://support.mozilla.com/en-.....nces_span_

In Options -> Tabs, check When I open a link in a new tab, switch to it immediately, then:
"When you middle-click on a Web link (or hold down Ctrl while clicking with the left mouse button), the page will be opened in a new tab."

Well, i click on the options and nothing happens. I expected a "reload every x seconds" option or something.

Do you right click? and not get a drop down menu?
Edit. Right click on an empty part of the web page you are on (or on the Tab). You should get a context menu with the time interval options.
