Hi guys and gals,

Firefox has been acting up on me lately and I can't seem to solve it.
Today my own webserver went down, so when starting FF I got 'the address isn't valid'. So I temporarily changed my hompeage to something else, but when I wanted to change it back I couldn't drop the link on the little home icon. So I opened properties. And that gave me the address isn't valid too.
The weird thing is this happened before - about a week ago, also when my webserver was having trouble.
At that time I reinstalled FF and checked my add-ons and at a certain point things started working again, but I had to do an other reinstall and finally went back from version 18 to 17. But now my version 17 is acting up on me and I don't want to go through the whole process again.

Anybody any idea why this is happening?
And more importantly - how to fix it???

I still don't know why this is happening, but like before I uninstalled FF and reinstalled it. Version 18.0.1 this time. Removed my user profile and restored it with Mozbackup (a backup of two days ago) and now all it working fine again. But I'd really like to know why this happens and how to prevent it.

Mind you - it works all right for now but I don't think I would have been able to start FF in safe mode - everything I click on in that menu (either options or help) gives me 'the address isn't valid', so I don't think safe mode would have been any different :S
