It looks as if the Mozilla Foundation has met their end-of-June milestone (barely!) to release Firefox 3.5. Here is the announcement at cnet. Better yet, you can download it yourself from http://www.mozilla.com/firefox

When I click on "check for updates" it says there are none. This suggests to me that the RC3 that I have been running for the past 5 days is the one that "shipped". Anyone else have impressions of 3.5?

There are several videos at mozilla.com in the new HTML5 video format -- no Java or Flash plug-ins are required to view them in FF 3.5. This HTML5 video is a good, but quick, overview of some of the new features.

First thing I found out, is that Tab Mix Plus is not yet compatible with 3.5.

From the Tab Mix Plus forums, the latest development build of TMP works with FF 3.5 for most people. Read the last few pages in the forum to see known conflicts, if you are willing to run a dev build.

This always happens with a major FF update. It lets you know which add-ons are in active development. Some of the old deadwood may be lost for good. It makes a compelling reason to try the beta/RC, in portable form or on a separate install.
