I was wondering if it is possible to turn off short term history. Also, is it possible to turn off the predictive website input bar. I know I didn't use the right terms, but I am tired of entering in websites and seeing things I've already been to, and things in my bookmarks coming up.

firefox 3 additions
(3 posts)The bar is called the Smart Bar, I think. Changing it and some other annoyances can be found in this article:

As to the history, I'm not sure what you mean by short term history, but, there are a couple of things you can try in Firefox.
Click on Tools/Options/Privacy and check "Always clear my private data when I close Firefox".
You can also change the number of days Firefox keeps your history, and uncheck the "remember what you downloaded" button.
You might want to uncheck "remember what I enter in forms and the search bar" as well. That should keep the autocomplete from filling in the bar.
You can go to Tools -> Options -> Privacy to turn off history all together.
The new location bar suggestions features is called the Awesome Bar.
