I'm at my wits end here. Firefox constantly shuts down when I'm using Google. One tab, many tabs, it doesn't matter. I figured the "Customize Google" add on might be the problem, so I disabled it. That seems to have made it worse!

The issue started when I got my new Vista computer, but it happened maybe once a week. Now it is happening at least every other time I use Google.

Any ideas why this happens and how I can fix it? I've already disabled ALL of my add-ons and rebooted, the problem still exists.

And why can't I remember how to put images into this forum?

Not sure why it's happening but you can try a fresh profile.

Close Firefox, and from the Run command, paste this in:
firefox.exe -ProfileManager

Choose a new profile and see if the problem persists.

What version of Firefox are you using?

I've been having the same problem with firefox 3 beta 4 or 5... went back to beta 3 for the time being.

I'm using Firefox 2.0.0.13. And there was one set of add-ons I didn't disable, so I now think I have found the offending service - when I disable my AVG Safe Search and Security Toolbar, I'm not having any problems.

This is the second time I've had problems with AVG. I've used the free version for years and when I finally spend the money for the full blown version I start having problems.

I'm sending a report to AVG.

Appletom, you're not the only one that has had problems with AVG (if that's any consolation)

My Firefox 3 Beta 5 has given me a lot of pain. One thing I have noticed is the Gmail takes forever to open since I installed Beta 5.
