I found this intersting MS article specifying a bunch of files that should not be scanned. Problem is I have no idea on how to implement that (in a convenient way) in e.g. Norton IS or SAS. Does anybody have a suggestion?

In SAS. Control Center > Scanning Control

Norton should have something similar.

OK, but what then? Looks like I have to find and add every individual file. What a drag. Do you think it's worth it?

If you think of all the scans you have done. Have you ever had a problem ?
And if we did, you and me have Ghost :)

Not sure Matt. I think we all have those oddball situations in our systems where we don't know from where they come. Maybe that is one source.
LH, as I said, there are some "mysteries" in my system that I cannot explain.
